Efeito hover no logo

Qual é minha questão:
É que eu vi, que em um blog, acho q da blogueiros os banner's que eles tem, são escuros, só que quando passo com o mouse por cima dele, ele fica na cor original e quero fazer isso no meu fórum

tem 2 coisas

1° o efeito esta se aplicando ao logo, mas eu ñ kero no logo
2° o efeito esta invertido, se eu to com o mouse em cima, ele fica escuro, só que é ao contrario
